The fuel injection system setting pump at a predetermined substantially constant speed can instantly create multi-pressure levels by partially disposing fuel from main fuel line upstream of fuel rail to fuel tank, through at least one fuel by-pass line with flow restraint, creating off-line fuel recirculation loops to stabilize fuel pressure of entire fuel system. A binary control valve is used to select proper pressure level in four off-line configurations. The system operates under high pressure in highway driving with power; under low pressure in city driving to save fuel and reduce exhaust emissions when gas pedal is released including idle. The same system can instantly deliver additional fuel on-demand producing super power beyond engine rating for a sport-car-like performance.
Software setting limits and manual override by-pass are used to safeguard super power operation preventing uncontrollable runaway. When engine fuel demand exceeds injection dynamic range at a given pump speed in a system, fuel pump can be set at another predetermined substantially constant speed allowing automaker greater choices to set additional pressure levels extending dynamic range for superior performance.
